Download safely
Many "free download" portals wrap installers in their own setup programs that add toolbars or adware. Get font managers only from the developer's own site, or from Microsoft Store or winget where the developer publishes there.

Windows 10 and 11 include a basic font manager at Settings > Personalization > Fonts. You can drag and drop fonts to install them, preview them, change variable-font axes, and uninstall them. It has no collections and no temporary activation, which is why many people add a dedicated tool.
